Mehnmah Reeves Washington was born in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa to the late, Rev. Dr. E. Toimu A. Reeves, the former Pastor of the historical Providence Baptist Church and Fannie Clark Reeves (Scott) Mehnmah accepted Christ at the early age of 7, was baptized at the age of 8 and has always had a fire, love and heart for ministry. Under the direction of their mother, Mehnmah and her siblings, The Reeves Family Singers, began singing and ministering throughout Monrovia, the capital city of Liberia and later in the United States. In July 1981, Mehnmah relocated to San Diego, CA, with her family.
She attended Bible College in Denver, Colorado, at Heritage Christian Center School of Ministry’s two-year training program and received a Certificate of Ministry. She has been in ministry since the age of 18, working with children, youth, and adults in many capacities. Just prior to joining Calvary she was The Director of Liturgy and Worship at Macedonia Baptist Church, Newtown, PA. Under her leadership the ministry flourished into five choirs, three dance groups and a drama/mime ministry. She also served as Church Treasurer and Assistant Chair of the Trustee Board.
Singing and music have always been Mehnmah’s first loves. She has been blessed to sing and/or record with such nationally known artists as John Tesh, Richard Smallwood, Clint Brown, Helen Baylor and Joe Pace. After relocating to PA she started Trio, Praise ‘N’ Harmony and currently sings with Lonnie Hunter & Structure, a Gospel recording and touring choir.
She believes that corporate worship ushers in the Holy Spirit and prepares the hearts of His people to receive the Word of God. She desires to see the Worship and Creative Arts ministry become a venue for Calvary to worship God through our whole being with a Spirit of excellence in music, drama, dance and spoken word. She lives by Jeremiah 29:11 & 13 and truly believes that God has a plan for each of our lives that is only intended to do good and not harm. And she strives to live a life that is perpetually seeking God.
Mehnmah is married to Charles and they have four sons Gilbert, David, Vincent and Marcus; a daughter, Aliyah; and two granddaughters, Mikayla and Anna. Mehnmah and Charles reside in Flourtown, PA.
